Recruitment sales manager Lee McQueen, became Sir Alan Sugar’s fourth Apprentice in June 2008 - despite having been caught lying on his CV earlier in the series.
McQueen, from Princes Risborough, Buckinghamshire, said he had to take “a deep breath” when the tycoon told him “you’re hired” in the hit BBC show.
The 30-year-old beat three other hopefuls to land a £100,000 job alongside Sir Alan. Read more

Simon Ambrose, who was 27 when he entered The Apprentice, won series 3 against many people’s expectations.
The plan for Simon after winning The Apprentice was to train as a chartered surveyor whilst working on a hotel and golfing development near Stansted Airport.
Simon still works for the Estates Management Team of Amsprop, the real estate division of Sir Alan Sugar’s companies. Read more

She was born in Hull, East Yorkshire and from a young age was determined to create success in her life. Tim Campbell

Tim Campbell, series one winner, worked for Amstrad’s health and beauty division for two years before he stepped down to set up the Bright Ideas Trust, an initiative to give young entrepreneurs a chance to set up a business with equity funding and advice.
After recording for the series ended in November 2004, Campbell was catapulted into a world very different from his previous job at London Underground. Read more

Born and bred in the rough inner city slums of Summerhill in Dublin, Bill was one of fourteen children.
Selling on the streets from the age of six, be it fruit, flowers, newspapers, Christmas decorations, football colours, or programs, was a means of putting food on the table for Bill and his family. He finished school at thirteen to go on the street full-time. Read more

FORMER Renault chairman Bill Cullen may be the boss of TV3’s new Apprentice show — but it’s clearly partner Jackie Lavin who’ll be wearing the pants.
The pair are joining forces with fellow entrepreneur Brian Purcell for the Irish version of the hit reality show, which sees 14 aspiring tycoons battling it out this Autumn to become Cullen’s understudy.

TV3 is wasting no time on its Apprentice project. However, at the risk of being hauled up for rehashing last week’s news, it’s hard not to obsess a bit about the chances of a hit series being made out of an Irish version of this show.
This extraordinary format has the power to pull in viewers like few others can manage, but it relies on one key factor - a ruthless character like Alan Sugar to call the shots.
In this respect, TV3 can hardly have found Sugar’s match in man-of-the-people Bill Cullen. Read more
